Earth Grief Circle
A space to honor our sorrow, deepen our love, and
restore right relationship with the living world
Inspired by the teachings of Francis Weller and his 3rd Gate of Grief, "the Sorrows of the World", this circle offers a sacred space to tend the grief we carry for our Beloved Earth and the chaos we are currently experiencing around the globe.
.
Many of us feel the weight of what is happening to the natural world—the devastation, the imbalance, the harm caused by human actions. The challenges can feel overwhelming, even paralyzing. It is easy to feel alone or powerless.
This circle is a place to remember: you are not alone.
When we gather to share our grief—to speak it, feel it, and allow it to move—we participate in something deeply healing. As Francis Weller teaches, when we nurture our affection for the world, our hearts naturally break open. This heartbreak is not a problem to fix, but a profound expression of love—and a necessary doorway to meaningful change.
Together, we create a compassionate and grounded container where each voice is welcomed and witnessed.
In our time together, we:
-
Follow gentle prompts to guide reflection and sharing
-
Speak from the heart without interruption or cross-talk
-
Witness one another with presence and care
-
Acknowledge and feel any grief that may arise
-
Call in healing for ourselves and the Earth
-
Close with a fire ceremony as a blessing for Pachamama, our Earth Mother
This is an invitation to come into right relationship with “all our relations”—to reconnect with the living world in a way that is reciprocal, reverent, and life-affirming.
